"The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny ."

“The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.”

"The world is just the way it is. The economy is just as it should be. The people who are behaving 'badly' in the world are doing what they're suppose to be doing. You can process it in any way that you choose. If you're filled with anger about all those 'problems' you are one more person who contributes to the pollution of anger."

I am very excited by the recent developments in my career. Whether I am counseling, teaching, or consulting, I value the opportunity to assist others with their therapy needs. I look forward to a promising year and to embracing new and rewarding challenges.
I'm incredibly grateful to my clients, colleagues, students, and family for the richness they bring to my life. Thank you all.

Couples Therapy on VH1 –
In the fall of 2011, I was synchronistically plucked from obscurity to work on the VH1 Couples Therapy Television Show as a Resident Counselor. The first season was shot in December and will air in March 2012. It is likely that subsequent seasons will be shot and aired in the months ahead. The show provides an opportunity for 5 couples to have an intense two week period where they can look at their relationships and themselves. It is my belief that the experience was extremely helpful to the couples themselves as well as to viewers who can learn through the celebrities’ pain, reckoning and growth. It is a wonderful opportunity for me to work with Dr. Jenn Berman and the therapy team on the show. It will be interesting to see what other opportunities will evolve from this.

  Teaching at California State -
In 2011, I had the privilege of joining the faculty at California State University, Dominguez Hills, as an adjunct professor in their Marital & Family Therapy program. I find tremendous satisfaction working with aspiring therapists and sharing with students my experiences as a practicing therapist. I teach classes on Addiction and Recovery, Human Communication, Adolescent/Child Counseling, Domestic Violence, Human Sexuality, and Elder Care. Much in the same way my clients get greater clarity and understanding of themselves in the process of teaching me about who they are, I get a deeper understanding of what it is to be a therapist by teaching and working with my students. My approach is very process oriented, and I treat my classes like a therapy group where everyone is required to bring in their own experience and issues.

Social Networking –
I've recently created public facebook and twitter profiles, which I will update regularly. Through them, I hope to be more accessible to those interested in seeking therapy, and I look forward to connecting with new people.
